Tracklist of a DJ set on YouTube
Festival sets, live streams and club recordings live on YouTube, and the track IDs usually end up buried in the comments. Paste the video link and TracklistScanner lists the tracks it recognizes, each with its minute so you can jump straight to it.
How to copy the link
- On the computer, copy the address of the video from the browser bar (youtube.com/watch?v=…).
- In the app, press Share under the video and then Copy link (youtu.be/… also works).
- Paste it in the box above and press the button. Shorts and clips of a few minutes are better searched with a music app.
For better results
- Use the link of a single video. Playlists and channel pages don't work.
- Private, age-restricted or members-only videos can't be listened to.
- YouTube sometimes blocks the download of a video. If that happens we tell you, and the same set on SoundCloud or Mixcloud is usually analyzed without problems.
Questions
Does it work with live streams?
With the recording, once the stream has finished and the video is saved on the channel. A stream that is still live can't be analyzed.
Why does it say YouTube isn't available?
Some videos can't be downloaded by the recognition service. It doesn't depend on you: try the same set on SoundCloud or Mixcloud, where DJs often upload it too.
Can I use a link with a timestamp (&t=)?
Yes. The whole video is analyzed from the start; the timestamp is ignored.
Is the result the same as the comments?
It's independent: we listen to the audio. It's useful precisely when nobody has asked for the ID or the answers contradict each other.
